This Privacy Policy explains how A & A Design Inc. (“A & A Design,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the FirstBorn iOS app and related FirstBorn websites (together, the “Services”). FirstBorn is a wellness and educational tool that supports men in tracking everyday habits during preconception. It is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The Services are published by A & A Design Inc., a Delaware corporation with a mailing address at 10100 Ormond Rd, Potomac, MD 20854, USA. We control the limited service data described in Sections 4 and 5 and correspondence you choose to send us. Apple, Google, RevenueCat, your selected export destinations, and website providers handle information under their own roles and terms as described below. You can reach us at alex@designswithaa.com.
FirstBorn is built around local storage. The categories below are stored in the App’s private container, local preferences, or its private App Group container for the widget. We do not receive these records, except for the specific derived-age and service-data disclosures in Sections 3 and 4.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Profile and onboarding | Birth month/year or age, height, weight, BMI or body-fat percentage if provided, body type, preferences, and the answers in an unfinished onboarding draft. |
| Lifestyle and habits | Alcohol, nicotine, cannabis, heat exposure, stress, hydration, sleep, activity, supplement use, commitments, and blackout or risk-window plans. |
| Medication and illness | Medication and supplement names or regimens, start and stop dates, illness or fever episodes, and related private guidance. |
| Daily records | Per-day entries, Apple Health auto-fill status, streaks, progress, and supporting calculation history. |
| Intimacy and conception records | Conception-attempt and solo entries, counts, positions, items used, per-encounter medication, optional ratings, protection or withdrawal status, and notes. |
| Partner information (optional) | Reported menstrual-cycle dates and lengths, partner birth month/year or age if provided, pregnancy-test reminders, and related timing entries used for local estimates. See Section 9. |
| Laboratory information and calculated results | Semen-analysis results you enter, quality and readiness scores, trends, estimates, and supporting calculation history. |
| Widget snapshot | A limited readiness snapshot containing score, trajectory, day number, streak, certification state, and weakest factor. |
Erase All Data clears the active App dataset, local preferences, scheduled notifications, App passcode material, and widget snapshot. It does not remove separately retained Previous Data recovery copies, CSV files you exported, copies already sent through the share sheet, or copies in iCloud or computer backups. Deleting the App removes its ordinary app container from that device, but may not remove Keychain items, exported files, or external backups.
With your permission, FirstBorn reads the following categories from Apple Health: sleep analysis, exercise time, active energy, step count, workouts, walking and running distance, cycling distance, date of birth, height, and weight. These reads support daily records and pre-fill the starting profile and movement history. Access is read-only; FirstBorn does not write any data to Apple Health. You can use manual entry instead and manage access in Apple Health or iOS Settings.
Health measurements are processed on your device. There is one derived-age exception: if Apple Health supplies your birth information, the App copies it into your editable local profile. Age in completed years calculated from that profile is then included in the Firebase events listed in Section 4. The current App does not distinguish a Health-imported birth date from a manually entered birth date for those age events. The birth date itself, height, weight, sleep, distances, workouts, steps, energy, and other Health measurements are not sent to Firebase or RevenueCat.
Revoking Health access stops future reads but does not automatically remove information already copied into the local profile or age analytics already transmitted. Use the controls described in Sections 11 and 12 for local data and service-data requests.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase from first launch to understand onboarding, feature use, sharing, and subscription conversion and to improve the App. The current App has no analytics opt-in prompt or in-app opt-out switch. Firebase data uses persistent app and device identifiers and is pseudonymous rather than anonymous. Information sent to Google includes:
Google’s bundled data-transport software may separately send limited delivery and cache-health diagnostics. We do not use Firebase Crashlytics or Firebase Performance Monitoring in the current App.
We use RevenueCat to display subscription offerings and paywalls, validate App Store receipts, prevent purchase fraud, restore purchases, maintain subscription entitlements, and analyze subscription performance. Because FirstBorn has no account and does not provide RevenueCat with a custom user ID, RevenueCat creates a random anonymous App User ID and caches it on the device. RevenueCat receives and maintains information such as:
FirstBorn does not send RevenueCat medication answers, Health measurements, birth dates, age, partner information, laboratory results, private logs, scores, or other reproductive values as customer attributes, targeting parameters, or paywall variables. Automatic device-identifier collection and RevenueCat SDK diagnostics are disabled in the current configuration. RevenueCat does not receive your payment-card details from FirstBorn.
Google processes information under the Firebase privacy documentation and Google Privacy Policy. RevenueCat processes end-user information for us under its service agreements; see its Privacy Policy. We do not use these services for third-party advertising, ad personalization, data brokerage, or cross-company tracking.
FirstBorn websites and partner landing pages are hosted by HostGator. The host may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, date and time, and security logs to deliver and secure the site.
Website analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 on the public FirstBorn homepage to count visits and understand how people find the site. Google may process a browser identifier, device and browser information, the page path, referral information, and an approximate location derived from the connection IP address. We strip URL query parameters from the page URL sent by our tag, disable advertising features and enhanced interaction measurement, and do not place this tag on the interactive quiz. Quiz answers, email addresses, and private App records are not sent to this website analytics stream. Analytics storage defaults to denied for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland; no website control currently changes that setting.
The website quiz uses your answers in your browser to show a guide. Its checkout handoff does not include your answers, email address or guide tags in the destination URL. If you continue to a hosted purchase flow, RevenueCat and Stripe process the separate checkout information described below.
Website guide email capture. An email address is required before the website reveals your guide. We save your email address, your signup request for FirstBorn tips and app offers, the version of the notice, and submission timestamps in private storage on our HostGator account, outside publicly accessible website files. We do not send your quiz answers, health or fertility information, or guide results with this submission, and we do not link those answers to your email address. The quiz answers remain in browser memory and are cleared when the page reloads.
The capture service does not automatically enroll you with an email platform or send a course. The signup form clearly states that submitting requests FirstBorn tips and app offers by email. We record that request without treating it as verified email ownership or proof of consent for every jurisdiction. Any sending integration must apply applicable consent, confirmation and suppression requirements. You can contact alex@designswithaa.com to access, correct or delete your capture record or withdraw your signup request. Any future marketing emails will include an unsubscribe method. We use short-lived, hashed network identifiers to limit abusive submissions; ordinary hosting request and security logs remain subject to HostGator’s practices.
Capture records inactive for 90 days are removed during capture maintenance on subsequent submissions. Hosting backups may retain earlier copies under the hosting provider’s backup practices. Before connecting another form processor or email-delivery provider, we will identify it in this Policy.
If you contact support or make a privacy request, we receive your email address, message, and any technical details or attachments you choose to send. Please do not include private health, partner, or intimacy records unless they are necessary for your request.
FirstBorn currently offers 3-month and 6-month auto-renewing subscriptions through Apple’s App Store. The plans currently offered to new subscribers do not include a free trial. Existing subscribers may retain access through legacy monthly or annual products, and eligible original-launch users may retain access based on Apple’s signed original-acquisition information. The live paywall and Apple purchase confirmation show the price, period, and any offer that applies to the user’s storefront.
Apple processes the purchase and payment under the Apple Privacy Policy. RevenueCat processes the purchase and entitlement information described in Section 4. Google receives purchase analytics as also described there. We do not receive or store payment-card details.
Where FirstBorn offers a subscription on the web, RevenueCat hosts the purchase flow and Stripe Billing processes the subscription and payment. The checkout may collect your email address, payment and billing details, and technical information required to process the purchase. Stripe handles payment-card details. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information, the purchase email address and an anonymous customer identifier so it can provide an activation link and recognize membership access in the App. FirstBorn does not collect payment-card details through its website quiz or App. These providers handle information under their privacy policies: Stripe and RevenueCat.
Manage Apple subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Manage a web subscription through its Stripe subscription-management portal or contact alex@designswithaa.com for help. In the App, Manage Membership opens the web management link when RevenueCat provides one; otherwise it directs you to your purchase email. Deleting the App, deleting a FirstBorn dataset, or resetting Firebase analytics does not cancel a subscription or delete purchase records held by the billing providers.
Local information is used on your device to provide onboarding, daily records, scores and educational guidance, calendar estimates, reminders, widgets, security, backup and restore, exports, and other features you request. We cannot access or recover those private records from our servers.
Service data is used to operate and secure subscriptions, recognize access, validate and restore purchases, measure App and subscription performance, improve the Services, respond to support or privacy requests, prevent abuse or fraud, maintain legal records, and comply with law.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information is disclosed only as described here:
FirstBorn lets you optionally record another person’s menstrual-cycle dates and lengths, birth month/year or age, and related timing information. Enter this information only with that person’s knowledge and permission. It remains in the local datasets and copies described in Section 2 and is not sent to Firebase or RevenueCat. Calendar and fertile-window outputs are approximations, not detection, diagnosis, or medical advice.
If you enable reminders, FirstBorn schedules them locally using iOS notifications. They are generated on the device and are not sent through our server or a push-notification provider. You can disable them in the App or iOS Settings. Notification content may be visible on the lock screen according to your iOS notification settings.
Local erasure is not a third-party deletion request. Erase All Data resets Firebase analytics state on the device and rotates its app-instance data, after which analytics remains enabled for a fresh journey. It does not delete analytics already received by Google, RevenueCat purchase history, or Apple or Stripe records. Contact us before erasing or reinstalling when possible because changing an anonymous identifier can make older pseudonymous records harder to locate.
Local information is stored in private App or App Group containers and protected by iOS security and Data Protection. Some onboarding and preference information is stored in the App’s local preferences. Internal recovery files use iOS complete file protection. Exports leave the App’s protected container and complete CSV backups are unencrypted, so you must protect the destination.
You can enable device-owner authentication and an optional 4-digit passcode for intimacy records. The App stores the custom passcode only as a salted hash and a failed-attempt counter in the device-only Keychain. After ten consecutive incorrect custom-passcode entries, the App is designed to clear the passcode and erase the protected intimacy log and related partner-cycle information.
Information sent to Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, HostGator, email providers, and destinations you select relies on those services’ security, including encrypted transport where supported. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, A & A Design Inc. is the controller for the service data described in this Policy. Depending on the activity, our legal basis is performance of a contract to provide requested App and subscription services; legitimate interests in proportionate product analysis, support, security, and fraud prevention where not overridden by your rights; compliance with legal obligations; or consent where required. Granting an Apple Health permission controls the App’s device access but is not consent to unrelated third-party analytics. This Policy itself is a disclosure and does not obtain consent.
You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, and receive portable data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Local records can be reviewed or deleted in the App. For Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, website, or support data, contact alex@designswithaa.com. We may need limited information to verify the request and locate pseudonymous records and will explain if a record cannot reasonably be identified.
FirstBorn automatically calculates educational scores, timing estimates, and recommendations on the device. These outputs do not involve human review and are not intended to produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Depending on your state, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising. Contact us to submit or appeal a privacy request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable right.
For purposes of Washington’s My Health My Data Act, consumer health data processed by FirstBorn can include profile, Health, habit, medication, intimacy, conception, partner, laboratory, and calculated-result categories described in Sections 2 and 3. Sources are you and, with permission, Apple Health. The App processes those records locally to provide the features you request. We do not sell consumer health data. Age in completed years, which may be derived from an Apple Health birth date, is sent to Google with specific analytics events as described in Sections 3 and 4. Google and RevenueCat also process App-use and purchase records that identify use of a preconception-wellness service; depending on applicable law, those records may themselves be treated as consumer health data even though they do not contain the private records stored in the App. You may also direct disclosure through an export or share destination. To exercise or appeal a right, use the App controls or contact us.
We are based in the United States. Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, HostGator, and other service providers may process service data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are supported by contractual or other lawful safeguards. Private local records are not transferred by us except for the derived-age analytics described above or when you direct an export or share.
FirstBorn is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided service data.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services change. We will revise the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where appropriate. If applicable law requires consent for a new collection or use, we will seek it before that activity begins.
